Compensation and Schedule for the A/R Collector
A/R Collector – Full-time, remote, $20-$22.50 per hour, Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm EST with some flexibility. Join a fast-paced team with opportunities for growth!
Required Qualifications of the A/R Collector
- 3 years of recent medical reimbursement experience required
- Must reside in Florida, Kentucky, or Arkansas
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen
Responsibilities of the A/R Collector
- Autonomously run and work client reports for 40-60 claims per day
- Require coding oversight for corrected claims
- Follow up on simple claims
- Collect data for appeals and review prior to submission
- Review accounts and follow-up documents for outstanding accounts receivable issues
- Contact insurance and third-party organizations by telephone and correspondence to resolve issues impairing reimbursement and secure reimbursement for billed services
- Prepare and maintain collection related documents, appeals, reconsiderations, data, and reports in compliance with all State and Federal laws pertaining to healthcare reimbursement
- Respond to correspondence from third party organizations regarding outstanding accounts receivable
- Communicate professionally with patients by telephone regarding the status of their billable services
- Independently prepare paperwork for adjustments, charge corrections, or refunds within established guidelines
- Review accounts and prepare appropriate paperwork for transition of accounts to patient collection agency
- Other duties as assigned
