Director of Revenue Management
Fairmont Dallas is looking for an experienced Director of Revenue Management who will be responsible for leading the hotel team in determining a strategic vision by establishing goals and implementing tactical efforts. The goal of promoting revenue growth generation among key customer segments and support the hotel's brand positioning and image. Responsible for data analysis, providing gathered intelligence, and recommending revenue and strategies to the revenue team as well as other corporate and ownership entities. Ensure that inventory allocation and pricing parameters are positioned to support the overall revenue goals of the hotel, while assisting all stakeholders in maximizing profit. This position will also oversee the reservations operations.
What you will be doing:
- Drive overall Revenue Strategy for the 545-room downtown hotel, encompassing Rooms, F&B, and Conferences
- Responsible for the Revenue Management System - forecast validation and daily interaction with system and the decisions produced, configuration and maintenance tasks related to the system
- Maximize net revenue contribution through a thorough understanding of market segments, booking channels and demand drivers for rooms, food and beverage and minor operating departments. Actively participate in total revenue management and evaluation of business opportunities
- Operationalize hotel and corporate pricing strategies which are congruent with demand factors, promote integrity and protect long term customer value; through definition and management of rate levels, stay restrictions and other tactics in all distribution channels
- Monitor segment booking pace in order to determine pricing and availability controls for all reservation distribution sources and implement according to the strategy of the hotel
- Monitor key indicators of hotel performance and third party intelligence sources to identify revenue opportunities
- Evaluate booking channel distribution models and opportunities for the hotel
- Establish and maintain strong relationship with OTA partners by persuading partners to evaluate new strategies in an effort to optimize hotel presence and conversion on third-party channels
- Stay current with industry changes and how it may impact demand
- Collaborate and evaluate potential partnerships with marketing team to manage funnel from awareness phase to purchase
- Responsible for completion of all rooms and revenue forecasting, budgeting and planning to accurately project unconstrained demand and hotel performance in collaboration with the General Manager, DOSM, Director of Finance, and the Regional team
- Chair and prepare materials for the weekly Revenue Meetings
- Co-lead DBR meetings with Director of Sales to optimize group segment profit by reviewing leads with a total profit optimization mindset
- Entertain and manage relationships with hotel clients and partners in an effort to support the hotel's brand positioning and image
- Responsible for timely and accurate completion of required reporting including but not limited to month end commentary, strategic planning of budget and marketing plans, tracking and analysis of competitive set pricing and yield strategies in collaboration with the Director, Sales
- Through analysis of function space usage, propose and implement strategies to maximize utilization
- Oversee channel management including rate loading and inventory management
- Lead and oversee the reservations team and ensure performance and efficiency of operations
- Provide guided learning to team members
- Ensure all areas of the hotel that impact revenue are fully aware of the hotel RM strategies and understand their role in the plan
Your experience and skills include:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Hotel Management degree and/or equivalent experience
- Previous managerial experience in Revenue Management required
- Previous experience in reservations and rooms operations, preferably a 4-5 Star/Diamond hotel
- Fluency in English, both verbal and non-verbal
- Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, namely with Excel
- Strong understanding of yield management and cost controls
- Strong experience with Opera, Opera Sales & Catering, and Revenue Management systems
- Strategic thinking with a proven ability to mobilize theory into action
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Team player and a proven team builder
