The Esports Head Coach is responsible for scheduling, recruiting, organizing and coaching the College's Varsity Esports team and will adhere to the general employee guidelines as specified by the Personnel handbook, the Vice President of Student Services, the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC), and the National Junior College Athletic Association- Esports (NJCAAE).

- Participate in the supervision of players and prepare them for NJCAAE and other competitions.
- Recruit the best possible student athletes to Calhoun, preferably in North Alabama.
- Report all relevant activities and actions to the athletic director and the vice president.
- Follow the proper chain of command with any relevant issues in the college.
- Maintain a proper working relationship with all faculty and staff at Calhoun.
- Assist with facilities that are used by the Esports team.
- Organize practices, game plans and tournaments for the Esports team.
- Consistently monitor Esports equipment to ensure that it is properly used.
- Collaborate with the STAR Institute with study hall and tutoring for Esports Team members.
- Exemplify proper conduct for the student athletes and toward all members of the college and in the community.
- Organize the Esports program which includes budgeting, camps, recruiting, monitoring player responsibilities, and any other duties assigned related to the Esports teams.
- Participate in fundraising activities for the Esports program and the athletic department.
- Provide accurate data and ensure player eligibility in all collegiate leagues and competition and maintenance of player records.
- Provide competent instruction in gaming and Esports.
- Provide academic and career advice to students and promote student leadership and enrichment experiences.
- Become familiar with institutional policies and procedures as outlined in the College Catalog, and Personnel Handbook and follow such policies and procedures.
- Maintain and increase competency in the gaming specialty by seeking new knowledge, and improving teaching skills.
- Promote positive and productive relationships with service area businesses, industries, and agencies.
- Provide advice to the administration on matters pertaining to the Esports program.
- Transport athlete in college vehicle.
- Create a working relationship with the Athletic Department personnel and other employees.
- Perform other appropriate professional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
- A minimum of (1) year of experience with gaming competition involving multiplayer online video games with team-based elements is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrated expertise in the subject specialty.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Commitment to all students, including those of diverse cultures and ethnic backgrounds.
- Understanding of basic computer skills.
- Ability to coordinate and coach a collegiate Varsity Esports team.
- Knowledge and experience of Esports games such as League of Legends, Overwatch, Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege, Overwatch, Fortnite, Super Smash Brothers, Counter Strike-Global Offense, Call of Duty, etc.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and supervise student athletes.
- Knowledge of appropriate safety rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of current coaching methods and collegiate eligibility standards.
- Ability to work and communicate with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds including students, parents, college employees, and the public.
- Ability to handle various situations in a calm and professional manner.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize issues.
- Ability to operate in a professional manner at all times.
- Ability to operate in a high-pressure situation and respond to issues in a calm manner.
