Manufacturing Support Associate
Hours:
2:30 PM - 11:15 PM Monday - Friday
SUMMARY: Perform printing, cutting, laminating, and finishing tasks within a manufacturing value stream.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Pack and process all shipments, as per customer requirements, company SOPs and regulatory guidelines
- Verify packing list to order contents (material, quantity, etc.)
- Perform quality inspection of product before boxing for shipment
- Select appropriate packaging and shipping materials to ship orders safely and prevent in-transit damage
- Use of hand tools, department equipment and machinery, including blades, banders and automatic tape machines, to pack and secure order shipments
- Process shipments using appropriate software platform, i.e. UPS Worldship; FedEx; or LTL carrier
- Access orders through Frontier system to finalize order process and update shipping confirmations
- Complete required training for and maintain knowledge of CFR/DOT regulations, regarding the labeling and transport of dangerous goods and ORM-D
- Replenish and maintain department inventory of shipping containers and materials
- Assist in loading of pallets or products for LTL shipments, as needed
- Maintain a clean and orderly work space and share in daily cleanup of shipping areas
- Use of hand and power tools, including pneumatic nail guns and staplers, power saws and chop saws to build wooden crates, pallets and frames for custom products as required
- Use of shrink wrap machine to shrink wrap product as needed
- Use of fork trucks to move pallets, materials and products as required
- Perform other duties as required or assigned
- Set up and print jobs on Printers, including flatbed, hybrid, and roll printers.
- Operate liquid lamination machines to apply coating to signs and sheets.
- Operate roll-to-roll lamination equipment.
- Operate cutting equipment to convert sheets to finished product (signs, tags, labels, banners).
- Perform finishing operations for signs, tags, labels, and banners. This includes operation of drill-press, lasers, round-cornering machine, hole-punch, press brake, and other finishing equipment.
- Perform startup, shutdown, cleaning, and daily maintenance on printing, cutting, lamination, and finishing equipment.
- Prepare packages and pallets for shipment.
- Utilize work orders to read & understand item specifications, job priorities, and daily workload.
- Maintain raw material inventory levels.
- Maintain a high level of quality and accuracy throughout all work processes.
- Report machinery status and/or problems to supervisor.
- Remove waste at end of shift.
- Ensure work area is kept neat and clean.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Learn and apply LEAN and 5S tools.
- Train and become sufficient at all work processes within the value stream.
- Cross-train in other areas of production/shipping.
- Able to work OT occasionally, sometimes mandatory

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School degree or relevant experience preferred.
