Accutech Orthodontic Lab, a Specialty Appliances brand, is looking for a Lab Manager for their Richmond/Midlothian facility. The right candidate would be someone who finds energy in building a culture around quality, teamwork, continuous improvement, and problem solving. An ideal candidate will also have experience in managing a facility under a quality management system, establishing KPI’s, developing people, searching out new technology, and leading change management. This role is the site lead and works out of Midlothian but reports up through the COO for Specialty Appliances in Atlanta. Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree in Business Management or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing Supervisory/Management position.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Excel, preferred.
  • A strong leader with the ability to provide direction for workers at all levels.
  • Strong decision-making, problem solving, and time management skills.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time depending upon task being performed.
  • An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills.

Competency Requirements / Job Duties

  • Responsible for overall supply chain including, but not limited to coordinating with parent company to place orders, receive orders, record lot numbers, and distribute supplies.
  • Research replacement / alternative parts as needed based on product material make-up.
  • Track and report CDT renewals to corporate HR.
  • Perform recruiting and onboarding for new hires.
  • Create and implement training plans for employees.
  • Answer customers’ questions, resolve problems, and maintain customer satisfaction by providing problem-solving resources.
  • Ability to remain calm, courteous, and professional when dealing with all types of people.
  • Supervise production employees while providing overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees.
  • Ability to direct the day-to-day production operations of the company while managing the image and vision of the company. 
  • Ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate with Management interdepartmentally.
  • Safety Manager overseeing all production areas.
  • Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
  • Plan and assign work while implementing and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Make recommendations on improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions to improve quality and safety.
  • Effectively monitor and manage manufacturing while allocating in an efficient manner the company's resources including the assignment of trained personnel for production and quality assessment activities.
  • Ensure the quality policy is understood, implemented, and maintained for production personnel at all levels. 
  • Responsible for finished goods in all departments to ensure that a quality product is shipped.
  • Expedite orders based on input from Customer Care for an on-time delivery to customers.
  • Uphold and support the quality policy and quality system requirements as established by 21 CFR 820.20 Subpart B.
  • Oversee manufacturing in accordance with short- or long-term strategic planning.
  • Safeguard and protect confidentiality of company and patient information as defined by the company’s Confidentiality Agreement.
  • Follow all safety requirements, as applicable.
  • Understand and use personal protective equipment where required.
