ACDS, Inc., a respected, well known non-profit agency, is seeking a Director of Residential Services for its growing business in Nassau County, Long Island, New York. The Director of Residential Services will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day operation of 8 Individual Residential Alternatives (IRAs). The IRAs are all in Nassau County.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
· Ensure that the rights, health, safety and personal outcomes of the people living in the residences are addressed in a person-centered manner and that they are supported at all times.
· Oversee the full scope of operational and clinical services within the residential department.
· Conduct regular and routine site visits to all locations
· Work closely with the Program Coordinators and House Managers in overseeing the everyday operation of residential services.
· Attend parent, resident, team, staff and other meetings as needed.
· Oversee the hiring process, assist in staff recruitment, and place new hires into the master schedule.
· Monitor financial record-keeping in the houses.
· Oversee the development of program schedules to ensure appropriate staffing ratios and budgetary compliance.
· Directly oversee the Program Coordinators, Nurse Manager and Behavior Intervention Specialists
· Participate in committees as required, including Incident Review and Human Rights
· Review documentation, including goals, service documentation, medical, financial etc., for all residences, for accuracy, thoroughness, and timely completion in a manner in accordance with New York State, Federal and Agency policy.
· Ensure that all staff fulfill training requirements and track and monitor dates of completion.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field.
Knowledge of OPWDD and Medicaid policies and regulations.
Knowledge of Residential regulations
Ability to obtain CPR, AMAP and or SCIP certification if needed
Willingness to be on call/flexible schedule based on needs of the program
Valid New York State Driver's license.
Experience:
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities; of which
A minimum of five (5) years must have been in a supervisory capacity and including a minimum of three of those supervisory years in a residential setting.
Skills and Abilities:
Decisive, effective leadership and management skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills needed to effectively interact with coworkers, employees, residents and their families.
Computer literate and able to use appropriate software, including Electronic Health Record system and email systems.
Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize work tasks of high importance to maintain deadlines.
Ability to work in a challenging environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
