Overall Position Summary and Objectives
Supports the functions of the Executive Secretariat, the office that manages the Director?s and Principal Deputy Director?s email correspondence, invitations, reports, and meeting and briefing materials, including authoring certain responses. The position will support the Executive Porfolio Services and the Executive Correspondence Operations Groups.
Work Details:
- Provides technical experience needed to analyze, develop and implement organizational policies and practices.
- Reviews and edits correspondence and other documents; evaluates clarity and consistency and corrects grammar, punctuation, format, etc.; implements the NIH plain language guidelines in writing and editing documents.
- Provides technical advice to program staff regarding new policies and procedures.
- Interpret requirements, analyze gathered information, verify facts, draw conclusions and prepare work products
- Performs research of issues pertaining to current policies, regulations and procedures, and prepares issuance to program staff on changes.
- Research and summarize background materials as needed by locating scientific or other policy related information on the internet and other means, including literature and database searches.
- Work with staff on reporting requirements, including collecting information, collaborating with other offices and preparing written reports.
