Acorns is seeking an Operations Associate to own the implementation of our internal processes in coordination with our core partners. You will act as the liaison between our internal operations teams and our external partners to test, develop, and iterate on our processes and procedures and SOPs for day-to-day operations. You will be working with experienced product managers, engineers, and executives to help fulfill our goal of being “the good bank.” You should have a passion for working with all types of people, discipline and focus to process, and a “think outside of the box” attitude to scaling operations.

Job Responsibilities:
- Communicate and coordinate effectively across functions, including Project Management, Engineering, Finance, Legal and Analytics, to implement projects
- Collect and analyze business requirements from stakeholders and partners, provide feedback on current and potential capabilities to meet those requirements
- Support deployment of new Spend features
- Manage ambiguous requests and convert to actionable tasks
- Maintain ongoing vendor relationships and facilitate the onboarding of new vendors
- Proactively identify process improvement opportunities and develop creative solutions
- Provide ad hoc analytical support and perform special projects as needed
- Provide technical assistance in automating and maintaining the operational processes related to the Spend product
Within 1 month you will:
- Introduce yourself and become integrated with the Acorns team
- Introduce yourself to our partners and establish QBRs for those partners
- Gain a fundamental understanding of our process flows for money movement and account verification
- Develop a prioritized plan with the Director of Spend Operations for automation upgrades to current processes
- Maintain existing queries utilized by the spend operations team and create a repository to catalogue queries, who uses them and frequency of use
Within 6 months you will:
- Build relationships with key partners, manage quarterly business reviews and daily KPIs, and the end-to-end partner integration process with limited to no issues
- Create end-to-end operational processes and focus on operations involving external partners
- Develop optimization methods for partnerships in collaboration with the project management and technical team
- Design processes and keep partners accountable in line with contract terms and SLAs
- Influence the selection and onboarding of new partnerships with Sourcing, Strategy, and Finance
- Create a Spend Ops Dashboard that provides a daily health check and provides department metric tracking
Within 12 months you will:
- Work with partners to define and iterate new initiatives and features
- Guide external partners through regular reviews for continuous progress and improvement
- Work closely with Finance and Sourcing team to identify best partners
- Work with Analytics to provide insights across several data points to inform executive stakeholders in business decision making and improve operations
- BS/BA in Business, Finance, Partner Operations or another related field
- 2+ years of partner management and/or operations experience
- Analytical skills to develop reporting and tools to track operational and partner KPIs
- Previous experience building out operational processes
- Passion for driving measurable results
- Proficiency in Excel
- Ability to motivate and lead cross-functional initiatives across diverse teams
- Ability to convince stakeholders to implement operational improvements to achieve efficient results
- Capable of effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment
- Problem-solver with solution-oriented attitude
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
- Experience working in an Agile environment or prior start-up experience strongly preferred
