Summary
Reports to: Executive Director, The Children's Center
General Summary: The Site Counselor/Social Worker provides support to children and families who may have trouble succeeding in their relationships within and outside of the family. He or she is responsible for providing social-emotional, behavioral and problem-solving services to children and their families. The Site Director/Social Worker works closely with the Executive Director and the Program Coordinators to ensure each child has a safe, stable, and nurturing childhood.

Duties
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provides one on one and small group skill based counseling, behavior planning and goal setting with young children.
Provides referral and support services to families with children in situations of founded cases of abuse or neglect, emotional or severe behavioral problems, and/or dysfunctional family conditions that place the child at risk and the family in crisis.
Provides coordination between agencies serving children in caseload to prevent duplication and opposing strategies for assistance. Works towards interagency cooperation and communication in the Southern Carroll County area.
Maintains documentation and reports as needed, for funding agencies involved in the social worker programming.
Serves as site liaison to End 68 Hours of Hunger and Foster Care. Also specifically coordinates access to on-site therapy provided by Hope Counseling, Holiday Gift Giving, Positive Solutions for Families, services with Granite State Adaptive, and other programs that support family well-being.
Serves as a member of the Coordinator Leadership Team and Pyramid Model Site Implementation Leadership Team. Collects and inputs behavioral and program data.
Participates cooperatively with the rest of the staff in the operation and maintenance of the Center.
Participates in The Children's Center's evaluations, professional development activities, and personnel evaluations as appropriate.
Provides practical training and guidance to staff and parents/guardians as required.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
At least one year of relevant early childhood experience
Experience delivering SEL type principals and/or curriculum in a preschool setting
Knowledge of legal and ethical issues related to children's rights
Ideal candidate will be familiar with the Pyramid Model, PBIS framework, and/or the Mindfulness based approach
A passion for our mission of meeting the needs of children through comprehensive, affordable, high quality child and family services, and to cooperate with other agencies serving these needs
Masters degree preferred
Ability to work with Office 365 suite and other computer programs as required
Citizenship, residency in U.S. required
State fingerprinting and background check

- Work hours flexible; role does require occasional evening, early morning and/or weekend engagements
