We are currently searching for a Senior Accountant. In this role you will be responsible for reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining the general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $85,000
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage general accounting functions including accounts payable, fixed assets, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Handle month-end close process, ensuring the accuracy of assigned journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Conduct loan imports, reconciliation, loan adjustment reviews, and financial postings for loan sales, payoffs, and paydowns.
- Oversee warehouse line clearing account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with external auditors during year-end closing and reporting.
- Participate in special projects, including Property Tax 571-L schedule and IRS 1099 MISC preparation.
- Assist in company cash flow analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Ensure compliance and assist with internal controls, audits, and regulatory requirements.
- Support branch managers and departments with financial and operational issues.
- Assist with tax/regulatory filings such as state escheatment, excise tax, etc.
- Experience with loan servicing and investor remittance processes is highly desirable

- Proficiency in Loan Vison or related mortgage accounting software (AMB)
- Experience working with multiple reporting entities
- Experience working with multiple entities
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, etc.)
- Good working knowledge of other Microsoft office tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience with specific experience in mortgage industry
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).
