Meter Reader, DOT | Columbus | 16.50/hr

Bermex has immediate DOT openings for meter readers in the Columbus, OH area. This will be for Columbus Gas, Reynoldsburg Water, and Suburban Gas. The job involves reading and recording utility meters on established routes in all weather conditions. Meter Reader will be tasked with reading 125,000 water meters per month, this is a fast-paced position that will require you to work in all kinds of weather conditions. This position works in a team environment, meter readers will be expected to work as a team to complete all meter reads assigned and help out team members as needed. No experience necessary, will train.

• Full time work Monday thru Friday (some weekend work)
• Starting salary $16.50 per hour.

Physical and environmental characteristics:

• Examples of Required Activities: stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and pull on a regular basis.

• Must be able to use hand water pump, tools and other equipment as necessary to fulfill position.
• Requires extensive walking up to 10 miles per day, carrying a handheld device at all times, coming in contact with insects, dogs, cats, snakes and other animals on a daily basis.
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug test.
• Must have a valid driver's license

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Bermex INC. salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to customer contact terms, location, experience, and performance. Other rewards may include Paid Time Off, 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match, ESOP contributions, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and other region-specific benefits as eligible.
