ACS is currently seeking a shipping and receiving assistant in our Verona, Wisconsin. This is a part-time position roughly 32 hours per week.
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure efficient and appropriate handling of shipping, receiving, and all material management tasks within our Manufacturing Facility.

Receiving:
Package/crate items for shipment.

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure efficient and appropriate handling of shipping, receiving, and all material management tasks within our Manufacturing Facility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Receiving:
- Sign for all materials received.
- Efficiently and accurately check in items received; compare packing lists against actual received goods.
- Open packages/crates/pallets
- Deliver shipments to appropriate locations; when applicable/requested, notify appropriate personnel that shipments have been received.
- Scan O&M manuals and shipping documents.
- Set up delivery with freight companies (FedEx Freight, John Wood Trucking) or process parcel shipments via UPS.
- Create packing lists/bills of lading.
- Load items onto trucks.
- Occasionally set up shipments from job sites.
- Provide directions to drivers if necessary.
Package/crate items for shipment.
- Assemble and build wooden packing crates for shipments (and order supplies for this as necessary); disassemble and dispose of unwanted shipping crates and materials from incoming shipments.
- Label items with PO # and cost code; organize and store items on receiving shelves
- Assist production personnel with finding material.
- Monitor and replenish inventory of "stock" shipping materials.
- Minimum high school diploma
- Minimum 1 year experience in material handling, shipping, and receiving, or logistics.
- Familiarity with personal computers and common programs such as Word, Excel, email, and Internet research as needed for job-related reasons.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Valid drivers’ license with good driving record needed to run errands, pick up parts and tools, etc.
- Demonstrates good oral communication skills.
- Must have the following personal skills and characteristics: Problem solving skills, team player, takes initiative to improve personal and technical skills, strong interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with all internal and external levels and groups.
- Some travel may be required.
