Alternative Investment Services team provides fund administration based services to a wide range of legal structures including hedge funds, funds of hedge funds, private equity, private credit and real estate funds. In connection with providing administration services, the AIS Accounting Team is responsible for both portfolio accounting and fund accounting, which includes fee calculations and investor allocations. The AIS Accounting Team serves as an aggregator of data that is used to compile the fund’s Net Asset Value (NAV) on a pre-determined liquidity period (i.e. daily, monthly, quarterly).

Role Responsibilities:
- Process accounting and investment-related transactions
- Prepare, review or analyze trial balances and other financial documents and reports
- Monitor and resolve cash breaks with the aim of minimizing potential risk
- Account for hedge fund/alternative investment partnerships and share based entities
- Researches and resolves operational and/or accounting exceptions to ensure the accuracy of accounting data within portfolio
- Allocate income/expenses (including new issues, side pockets, side letters etc.)
- Read fund and legal documents in order to accurately and appropriately process transactions and/or calculate various fees/allocations.
- Calculate and account for management, incentive fees (including tiers and hurdles), and waterfall calculations
- Compute net asset value, (“NAV”) and investor level NAV estimates
- Compute various rates of return
- Perform related duties as assigned and ensure deadlines/deliverables are met in accordance with the internal and client SLAs
- Prepare or review investor and fund audit information and collaborate on financial statements
- Review operating procedures and ensure they are followed while performing tasks/processes.
- Maintain specific knowledge and skills that are essential in performing the role effectively
- Proactively share new ideas / process enhancements that could result in a benefit to the team
Candidate Qualification and Qualities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance degree.
