What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agriculture Lead Technician position at Actalent?
Actalent Scientific is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Manufacturing Agriculture Lead opportunity working in Seed Processing. This will be a 1st shift Monday-Friday opportunity and can lead into higher level roles management.
Description:
Seeking candidates with a Degree and experience in Agriculture, Horticulture, or Biological Sciences to help lead others in a seed processing role. There are 2 different types of roles that involve leadership, logistics, and forecasting. Candidates with science experience encouraged to apply, but open to candidates with degree and logistics/inventory experience.
- They are involved in all facets of small material manufacturing and production. Indoor material processing and packaging activities may include receiving, scanning, cleaning, treating, sorting, counting, labeling or warehousing seed work.
- May be responsible for preventive maintenance of equipment in assigned areas and ensuring operations process and procedures are followed through.
- Responsibilities may also include electronic data collection in laboratory settings utilizing PC and handheld data collection devices.
- Additionally, maybe responsible for transporting small materials to appropriate work centers.
- Activities may require bending and lifting 50 lbs, long periods of sitting or standing. Extended hours may be requested during the peak seasons.
- Individuals must be able to adhere to all client SOPs and to support all site safety and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Previous experience with MS Office / Excel and other standard computer and software systems is required. Basic mechanical ability/understanding of equipment maintenance (able to operate and trouble shoot equipment) may be required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree minimum
- Experience in Horticulture, Agriculture, or Biological Sciences a plus
- Experience with Logistics, Inventory, Data Entry, or Manufacturing a plus
- Must have some experience working in a fast paced work environment
- Previous experience with MS Office / Excel and other standard computer and software systems is required.
