Description:
This position is designed to own certain improvement initiatives as well as participate on new product development with the R&D team. Focus will be on developing CAD models and being the subject matter expert in Solidworks Expectations • Own certain improvement initiatives as well as participate with the R&D team to produce new products and sustain existing projects as needed. • Cad Development and Engineering o Ability to mentor and coach junior level engineers o Leads and maintains project and value engineering initiatives. o Utilizes Solidworks CAD and design software and equipment to develop designs and test designs. Considered Expert Level or Certifications o Develop product drawings and dimensions and follows industry standards. GD&T is a plus Understands tolerance stack ups and properly design alignment for assemblies. o Update and maintain cad database o Must be able to perform rapid prototype development with a small team Knowledge Base / Experience • Must be have a strong background and be able to immediately add value in the following: o Metal components (machined, stamped, laser and/or bent with a brake) o Plastic components (molds, injection, vacuum forming and/or machined parts) o Pumps / hydraulics o Electrical (basic level of understanding) o Machining capabilities and tolerances • Previous Industrial Design Development a plus Requirements • 10 years of proven mechanical engineering experience in design and manufacturing • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment • Self-motivated and proactive within the team environment • Proven track record of meeting deadlines • Must have excellent working experience and proficiency using SolidWorks to design and develop new products • General understanding of GD&T • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong problem-solving skills in a cross-functional global organization • Experience with SolidWorks is a must (Certifications are desirable) • Proficient in Microsoft Office
