What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cad Technician position at Actalent?
Description:
- Coordinates with Surveyors, clients, municipalities, and other employees regarding project scheduling, conflicts, milestones, and completion.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Civil3D or AutoCAD, specifically working with survey data, drawing layers, point formats, field-to-finish codes, layer and points styles, data management, and surface modeling.
- Performs in-house quality review of survey field activities, legal descriptions, maps, aerial photographs, calculations, and other diverse types of project deliverables.
- Performs calculations to determine traverse closures, traverse adjustments, field note reductions, boundary analysis, sketch and descriptions, construction calculations, and area calculations utilizing Civil 3D and Trimble software.
- Performs drafting of topographic, boundary, ALTA survey, construction layouts and RFIs, and as-built surveys.
- Assists field crews with prep and calculations for survey work done in the field.
- Work under the direct supervision of a Registered Professional Land Surveyor.
- Perform detailed property research from city, county, and state records.
- Performs other surveying-related duties as required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must have references and examples of past work, .dwg format preferred, PDF or JPG are acceptable.
- Knowledge of survey equipment and software, and other essential equipment for field and office work, and willingness to learn new field software and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word & Excel, and Google Earth.
- Preferred: Some education in Land Surveying, Engineering, or related field from an ABET accredited program, or other relevant combination of education and experience.
