Job Title: Chemist

Job Description

• Follows in-house procedures to complete testing

• Suggests possible improvements to current testing

• Organizes and prioritizes testing workload to achieve goals and objectives

• Provides solutions for testing challenges

• Verifies like work performed by other analysts

• Performs analytical method development/validation activities

• Prepares documents suitable for FDA submissions

• Conducts routine OOS investigations to determine root cause

• Performs trending activity to aid in investigations

• Updates/Revises SOPs to comply with current standards

• Performs routine equipment calibrations as specified by SOP

• Performs routine laboratory maintenance as specified by SOP

• Routinely maintains a clean work area

The role involves 50% analysis and testing, 30% calibration and troubleshooting, and 15% product release testing. Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, high throughput QC environment. The job is fairly repetitive and involves significant paperwork (up to 60%).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Pleasant Hill, Iowa.

Work Environment

Monday - Friday 1st shift. Typical testing/laboratory environment with moderate noise levels. Physical demands include lifting 35lbs occasionally, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive motions.
