Civil Engineer (Site, Transportation & Pipeline)

Description:

We are seeking qualified engineering candidates to hire into site civil, transportation, and pipeline divisions.

The ideal candidate will have a civil engineering degree from an accredited university, 2 years of experience, FE and proficiency using AutoCAD (or similar).

Candidates will be active in the designing of public and private sector developments. Project sizes range from approximately one (1) acre to several hundred acres.

Project types include roadway design, residential subdivision, commercial retail, office developments, public / municipal buildings, institutional, military, and nonprofit developments.

Experience in conceptual planning, and developing construction documents are beneficial, although not required.

Tasks/Responsibilities:

• Provide engineering support.
• Assist in the preparation of plans, designs, computation methods and reports.
• Apply knowledge and techniques to the solution of basic analytical problems.
• Follow established/standard policies and procedures on details of work and make preliminary selections and adaptations of alternatives.
• Perform a variety of tasks that are planned to provide experience and familiarization with the staff, methods and practices.
• Assist and manage in civil engineering projects in Alabama and/or the Southeast United States
• Perform pre-design, programming, and feasibility studies.
• Review and extract relevant information from topographic surveys and maps, as-built drawings, blueprints, aerial photographs and tests on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and related topographical and geologic data.
• Prepare engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules.
• Comply with relevant federal, state, and local codes and standards.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related duties, as needed.
