Job Description:
Our client is currently seeking a construction professional that they can grow into a PM position. This person will be responsible for supporting the Project Manager and Preconstruction team, to ensure the company delivers a high quality, cost effective and timely project. They will report to a Project Manager, as well as interfacing with Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients. Responsibilities include:
Preconstruction:
- Assist in preparation and management of bid packages
- Maintain bid list and confirm Subcontractor participation
- Subcontractor prequalification
- Perform quantity takeoffs and assist in development of Owner proposals
- Maintain and organize preconstruction documents, including drawings and supplemental bid documents
Operations:
- Maintain project logs (i.e. Submittal Log, RFI log, etc.)
- Maintain and update schedules
- Identify need for and write RFIs
- Prepare, review and process shop drawings
- Maintain as-built drawings
- Purchase Order and Subcontract Scope analysis and drafting
- Material purchasing and expediting
- Document management and distribution
- Value engineering design and proposals
- Coordinating with Subcontractors and Vendors
- Visit project sites to monitor progress conformance to plans and standards
- Continuously monitor schedule, budget, costs & CO’s to track project profitability
- Provide the Project Manager with support and accurate information to maximize project management effectiveness
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in building construction or Engineering (or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience)
- Prefer at least 2 years of experience in commercial construction
- Computer software experience: Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Project, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point
- Understanding of AIA Contract Documents
- Thorough understanding of industry practices, processes, standards, and their impact on project activities important
- Knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, engineering drawings, and other construction documents
Selling Points:
- Founded in January 1989, headquarters in Boca Raton, with offices in Austin and Cleveland.
- Completed over 5,000 projects in forty-six (46) states.
- Specialize in the construction and renovation of private commercial facilities, with considerable experience in interior tenant construction. Work on a variety of projects, so employees don’t get bored.
- Utilize state of the art computerized management information systems for estimating, project management, CPM scheduling, and job cost accounting.
- Smaller company, with less red tape than a larger GC.
- Offer profit sharing, in the form of quarterly bonuses (could be upwards of 10% annually, based on company and personal performance)
- Projects are smaller ($100K- $1Mill), fast moving, and turn over in 1-4 months.
Work Environment
- Corporate Office in Boca Raton, FL with job site project visits.
