Design Assurance/Software Test Engineer

We have a role for a well qualified Design assurance/software test engineer. Please apply if you are qualified.

The Design Assurance Engineer inspects, audits, and/or reviews data and documentation coming from Engineering to ensure proper processes have been followed. There is a quality assurance component as well, involving the examination of life cycle artifacts for correctness and completeness. The Design Assurance Engineer supports software and complex electronic hardware development projects, as well as design changes required by production and field support. The Design Assurance Engineer's activities are performed as outlined in industry standards

Required Qualifications:

·   Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited institution; or an Associate degree in technology or engineering and five or more years of experience in a quality or process assurance role

·   Strong leadership, communications, facilitation, presentation, training, and analytical skills

·   Knowledge of and experience in product development, including:

·   Root cause analysis methods and techniques

o    Process improvement methods and techniques

o    Process, functional, and configuration audits

o    Risk assessment and management

o    Requirements definition and management

o    Test case/procedure definition

o    Configuration management and change control

o    Problem reporting management and resolution

o    Validation and verification of life cycle data 

o    Life cycles and process models (e.g. waterfall, Agile)

Responsibilities:

·   Develop and execute quality and process assurance plans

·   Conduct process audits

·   Review, analyze, and assess life cycle data through periodic sampling

·   Detect, evaluate, and track deficiencies in processes, plans, and standards

·   Perform process improvement activities

·   Perform root cause analysis, and identify and implement corrective and preventive actions
