What are the responsibilities and job description for the Distribution Planner III position at Actalent?
Description:
As a Planner, you will be responsible for designing high voltage distribution power systems throughout Southern California. The Planners on this team will be assisting on Distribution projects, assisting with design and coordinating with the Distribution Engineering team, civil construction team, PMO, drafting, scheduling, construction, and other internal teams to create electrical drawings.
Typical day:
- responding to edison planners, and coordinating between them and edison to identify design questions, progress reports, etc
- review the photos and pole loading sheets from the field, enter info into SPIDACALC
- do redlines over work orders, and apply to redline maps with pole heads, (the planner is more of the "brainchild behind the designs")
- Det poles metric: completing the red lines and related forms (ped tracking control, env screening form) should be between 8 - 10 poles per week
- "what does a normal work week look like/projects size/how many poles in a week/what is their involvement with that work?"
- at the desk 95% of the time, in office overy day

• Must have strong oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused to understand and appropriately respond to clients’ business needs.
• Demonstrated ability to accurately analyze information and make sound decisions that have considerable business impact.
• Demonstrated ability to interface effectively and collaborate with clients, peers, management, and other work units.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and accountability for the accuracy of information and for achieving results.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Able to drive, traverse on uneven surfaces, occasionally lift up to 40 lbs, sit/stand for extended periods of time, work in various weather conditions, and possibly be in remote regions (coast, desert, and mountain) for extended periods of time.
