Electrical Engineer

Job Description:

Our client is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their growing team. As part of our team, you will work on projects related to municipal water and wastewater treatment plants, including but not limited to major treatment plant expansions, regional water quality studies, and critical water reuse projects that will create sustainable and resilient water supplies for the world.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed electrical power systems design for water and wastewater treatment facilities with minimum supervision by a Electrical Engineer
• Perform load calculations, detailed conduit routing, motor control center and switchgear design, and specification generation
• Interface with local clients for all electrical engineering needs and utilize other resources in the company to help deliver on client needs

Could be based in the Coral Springs, West Palm Beach, Orlando, or Miami office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
• Water/Wastewater projects preferred. Would consider other similar industries.
• 6 years experience working in Electrical Engineering
• Registration as a Professional Engineer
• Familiarity with power system applications, including calculation of available short circuit current, voltage drop, harmonic distortion, and power factor
• Field investigative and start-up experience
• Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA 820 and NESC
• Familiarity with the IEEE color book series
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel
• Excellent communication skills
• Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting
• Have the ability to interact positively with clients

Work Environment:

• Could be based in the Coral Springs, West Palm Beach, Orlando, or Miami office.

From Client: The position is hybrid. We’d like to see them come to the office on some type of regular frequency to get to know the staff, project needs, etc. But the frequency will probably vary office to office. So it can certainly be a discussion with the local office manager. We’ll also need them to travel to various project sites for field visits, meetings, client interactions, etc. This also varies based on demand, but I wouldn’t anticipate it being more than a few times a month on average. But the frequency could evolve over time.

ENVIRONMENT

• 5-10% travel, very minimal -- will go out when they submit a deliverable and have a workshop for 1-2 days
• Flexible work hours -- working hours 7 AM - 6 PM
• Hybrid WFH schedule offered, based on performance

TEAM SIZE

• 45 Electrical folks across the country
• 2 in Florida
• Part of a larger team called Electrical Programing Instrumentation and Controls, which is split up into Electrical, Programming, and I&C.
