Description:
Job Summary
The Engineering Technician assists engineering and operations teams at our client, a medical device company located in RTP. The technician works under close to moderate supervision from the engineering team to build prototypes, create and maintain documentation, perform verification test, and investigate failures. This position requires experience in electronics technology.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Create and maintain engineering documentation (BOM’s, procedures, ECN’s, technical reports).
• Troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical components and equipment
• Assist in installation qualification of manufacturing test equipment
• Build prototype PC boards, cables and assemblies
• Test new software and hardware changes
• Hand solder SMT and through-hole parts on printed circuit boards
• Other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
· AA, AS degree in Electronics Engineering, technical school, or equivalent work/military experience
Experience:
· Soldering experience with IPC7711/7721 Standard knowledge a plus
· 3 years troubleshooting and repairing electronic equipment to the component level
· Medical device manufacturing experience a plus but not required
Competencies:
· Ability to use electronic test equipment such as a DMM and oscilloscope
· Experience in the rework and repair of printed circuit boards, electronics manufacturing test environment, & component level troubleshooting
· Knowledge of reading schematics, production processes, and quality control operations is required
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
· Microsoft Office: Word & Excel required and Power BI a plus
