Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Phd in physics or engineering Computational simulations Can’t code well they understand the models can present to customers grow to be a lead • Requires a MS or higher in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil), Physics, or similar – but not computer science / programming o Minimum of 1 years work experience – but this can be flexible if the candidate is otherwise highly qualified • Primarily programming in Java o Some experience with Java required • Some C experience is desired but not required (but definitely desired) • Preferred – someone with any knowledge of Fortran • Preferred – someone with any experience with developments tools like Git, Eclipse (or IntelliJ) , Visual Studio, JIRA • Preferred – someone with any experience with compiling and developing for or on Linux OS o Most of the work can be done on Windows, but cannot escape eventually having to work with Linux • Desired: o Current active security clearance o Experience with related DoD software systems and models o Experience developing and deploying software to DoD IA requirements o Knowledge of nuclear weapons effects and a background of scientific programming • They will have tasks that include data validation and verification, including creating reports; This may include visualization of data o So they need to be able to understand the effects being modeled and validated o And able to execute simulations and document results
