What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry Level Buyer position at Actalent?
Description:
As a commodity leader in Purchasing, you will be responsible for the overall management of the suppliers within your commodity. You will be responsible for the negotiation of part pricing and materials from suppliers to support the production and development of globally competitive products in support of department, division, and corporate goals. You will also be responsible for the communication of annual operational forecast to each supplier and working with the supplier to achieve overall results that meet targets.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Represent and act as an agent on behalf of the company negotiating pricing with suppliers
• Develop, gain approval, and execute purchasing strategies for assigned commodities.
• Develop and execute cost reduction strategies
• Research and propose globally competitive suppliers to supply parts and tooling
• Achieve new model and mass production cost targets through effective supplier selection and negotiation
• Manage fiscal budget for assigned commodity assuring accurate budget
• Effective supplier relationship management
• Tooling and equipment tracking to prepare for and manage company investment strategies
Required Work Experience:
• 2 years of experience with sourcing/ buying function
Required Education:
• 2-year or 4-year Degree preferred or equivalent of related work experience in engineering, business or finance
