Description: Entry Level QC Cosmetic Chemist - Training Provided
Position Summary:
Perform daily activities within the lab and quality-related functions to support Quality, Production and Research and Development
Essential Functions & Job Responsibilities:
- Test in-process products’ physical characteristics to ensure they fall within specification while still in production
- Test products post-manufacturing for preservative and active content and ensure it falls within specification
- Review out of specification (OOS) results with Chemist and/or Supervisor to decide on course of action
- Approve and release batches that are within specification
- Maintain a clean work environment
- Exercise good manufacturing, documentation and laboratory practices
- Test raw material (RM) samples and review RM documentation to ensure RMs are in compliance.
- Prepare internal documentation to record RM compliance and release RMs for use.
- Test incoming samples from RND and communicate OOS results Supervisor
- Complete Non-conformance reports for out-of-compliance products
- Aid in performing ongoing investigations, validations and other unique projects
- Monitor incoming microbiological analysis results and communicate OOS with Supervisor
- Prepare reagents required to carry out analyses
- Oversee subsections of product releases(ie Raw Materials, OTC Finished goods)
- Perform client-specific test methods
- Aid in test method validations and test method transfers
- Support supervisor in implementing quality-related directives

- BA/BS Chemistry or related field
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, Ext)
- 6 months QC cosmetics experience preferred
