Description:
The Environmental Engineering Technician will perform and document environmental tests such as vibration(random/sinusoidal), fixture evaluations, mechanical shock as well as climatic test (temperature, temperature shock, humidity, altitude) in compliance with specified requirements for both R&D, design verification and product verification testing.
Read and interpret information displayed on such test equipment as oscilloscopes, data recorders, vibration controllers and telemetering equipment.
Produce valid data and document test activities that demonstrate test compliance in a clear, accurate, complete and concise manner.
Support engineering activities designing, setting up and operating electronic and optical test stations when they are required to be used in combination with specified environments.
Troubleshoot test failures as well as troubleshoot and maintain test equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Must have experience programming and operating environmental test equipment: electro-dynamic shakers, environmental test chambers, power amplifiers, vibration and temperature controllers, thermocouples, accelerometers, oscilloscopes.
Knowledge of environmental testing, in accordance with customer or industry specifications. As well as the testing equipment necessary to perform those tests.
Competent in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database programs, data acquisition programs, measuring instruments or comparable
Strong understanding of tooling/fixturing and related mounting techniques is essential.
