Description:
Actalent is working with a Design-Build Industrial Contractor who is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join their Greenville Office team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely estimates for construction projects of varying sizes and complexity. The ideal candidate will have a strong history in construction estimating, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of delivering successful construction projects. Project Industry: Aero/Auto, Film/Studio, Metals, Logistics, etc.
This position will report directly to the Director of Construction with support from Director of Pre Construction and other Estimators out of corporate. They will help with the bidding process and winning more work for the company. The strongest candidate will have the ability to build budgets and projects from material and overall project costs
Responsibilities:
- Construction experience in local and surrounding areas (Greenville, Columbia, Charlotte, Ashville) -- winning bids for Greenville and surrounding areas will be important
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate and timely estimates.
- Conduct site visits to gather information and assess project conditions.
- Determine the scope of work, materials required, and labor costs for each project.
- Work with subcontractors and vendors to obtain quotes for materials and services.
- Develop cost estimates and prepare detailed proposals for clients.
- Collaborate with the Director of Construction and Project Managers to ensure that estimates are accurate and complete.
- Track and analyze project costs to ensure that estimates are consistent with actual project costs.
- Participate in project meetings and provide input on project planning and execution.
- Maintain a working knowledge of industry trends, standards, and best practices related to construction estimating.
- Assist in developing and implementing best practices and processes for construction estimating.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
At least 5-7 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field: Tilt-Wall experience preferred but not required.
Strong understanding of construction estimating principles, including project planning, budgeting, quality control, and safety.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contracts.
Proficient in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office.

Salary : $80,000 - $120,000
