Job Title: Estimator
Job Summary:
Our company is seeking an experienced estimator with strong experience in welding and fabrication. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of have a track record of ensuring estimations are as accurate as possible. This role also involves business development and bringing in new business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize estimating software to produce accurate and comprehensive estimates for steel and metal fabrication on projects.
- Work with project managers, engineers, and clients to gather project specifications, detailing’s, and other relevant information.
- Use stick modeling techniques to analyze and interpret drawings and develop accurate cost estimates.
- Stay up to date with labor codes and regulations within the company to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Analyze project risks and uncertainties and develop contingency plans to mitigate them.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify potential cost-saving measures without sacrificing quality.
- Knowledgeable on Tekla EPM and has experience in estimating and producing Proposals & Reports within the Tekla Software.
- Maintain accurate records of project estimates, change orders, and other relevant documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or Field Experience
- 3 years of experience as an Estimator, preferably in the steel or metal fabrication industry.
- Knowledge of cost of materials
- Ability to read and interpret project specifications, blueprints, and other technical documents.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate estimates within tight deadlines.
