What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at Actalent?
Immediate Estimator opportunity with one of the leading Construction firms in New Jersey, this role requires a candidate with at least 5 years of experience working within General Contracts as an Estimator. This role will oversee large scale public projects that offers a lot of immediate growth opportunities!
Description:
• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs on project plans. Will be required to perform takeoffs for all trades.
• Maintain historical pricing for estimates completed. Use subcontractor input to establish/update unit pricing
• Estimate projects at various levels of drawing development – DD, SD, CDs
• Review all project plans and specifications to understand project requirements
• Reach out to subcontractors for bids. Maintain contact with bidders as required to obtain sufficient number of timely bids.
• Review subcontractor bids for scope accuracy and completeness
• Maintain subcontractor database for future bids
• Assist with business development by researching available public and commercial bid opportunity websites
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• College Degree (Engineering preferred) with 3 years of experience in estimating
• Understanding of estimating software, Microsoft Office.
• Well organized, flexible, detail oriented
• Able to prioritize work load and meet project deadlines
• Effective written and oral communicator
• Self motivated, eager to learn, and good team player
