What are the responsibilities and job description for the Federal QC Manager (Construction) position at Actalent?
Summary:
Actalent is in search of a fully qualified for an urgent hire Quality Control Manager with one of our clients who has multiple projects in the pipeline to at federal installations located on Oahu.
Qualifications:
- Must have completed the course entitled "Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors: and maintain a current certificate.
- Familiar with the requirements of USACE EM 385-1-1, and experience in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability.
The ideal candidate would possess these qualities -
- Must possess a working knowledge of Adobe Pro, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
- High level proficiency of written and verbal communication required. Must be well organized and be able to work independently with minimal direction.
- Must have a good understanding of applicable construction laws for local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
- The position will require work to be performed indoors and outdoors. The employee will be exposed to various weather conditions. Other hazards include, but are not limited to working near heavy equipment, noise hazards, chemicals, cleaning products, asbestos, lead based paint, contaminated soils and road traffic.
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time. The position will include prolonged periods of sitting in order to perform administrative duties.
Typical QC Duties Include -
- Implement and manage three phases of quality control procedures
- Ensure project documentation meets specifications
- Ensure and certify that the work completed each month is accurately reported
- Maintain all project documentation, including preparing accurate Daily QC Reports
- Timely submittal of the Daily QC Report to the client
- Prepare and/or manage the development of project reports, inclusive of Div. 1 and Close-out documentation
- In coordination with the Site Supervisor and Project Manager, develop, submit and track RFIs and submittals in accordance with contract requirements
- Ensure all documentation and construction work adheres to quality control contract and specifications
- Inspect all materials that arrive on site to ensure adherence to contract specifications
- Conduct on-site meetings with the client and subcontractors as required; serve as liaison with government Quality Assurance inspectors as required.
- Manage commissioning and testing tasks
- Complete close out process, including close out documentation
- Obtain favorable performance evaluations for the Quality criterion from clients
- Collaborate with client and project manager to ensure effective communication
- Communicate in a productive, professional, and diplomatic manner at all levels
- Support the Site Supervisor and SSHO as needed
- Other duties as assigned
