What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Technician position at Actalent?
Description:
This is a unique mix of field service/startup and commissioning of advanced processor controlled HVAC equipment with computer and technical competency used every day. No installations.
• Conduct field work with a high level of professionalism in a timely manner.
• No installations with this opportunity, Prepare for on-site startups/service and repairs by examining difficulties and coordinating on-site work.
• Use a computers to perform upload/downloading, code change, diagnostics and repairs of equipment.
• Travel to customer sites is required and ensuring startups and services occur promptly. Travel approximately: 35-60% but not limited to in a month’s time. Occasional travel of a two week interval is rare. Weekend and Holiday work may be required.
• Identify, analyze, diagnose, and repair systems and products at customer's location.
• Perform preventative maintenance, part replacement, and modifications as needed.
• Address customer related issues on projects to insure highest levels of customer service and meet overall project objective.
• Telephone support to customers’ technical needs.
• Ability to understand the importance of HVAC function in food manufacturing, cleanrooms and process controlled environments.
Diagnose and repair desiccant air handlers
Read and evaluate electrical diagrams, air flow maps, and program sequences for controllers
Daily contact with customers to diagnose HVAC units, process warranty claims, as well as contact with vendors and OEMS for HVAC and electrical parts
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
1 years of troubleshooting equipment (HVAC preferred) Electrical/programming coursework or equivalent experience is highly desirable. Associates degree or equivalent from a Technical/Trade School focused in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioni
