Firmware Engineers

Actalent's client has several openings for experienced Firmware Engineers to work in new product development.

These positions provide a lot of room for growth and advancement.

There is flexibility to work an average of 2 days/week remotely. Some weeks you can work fully remote and sometimes, depending on the project, you may be needed onsite 5 days/week.

The Software Engineer performs a variety of complex engineering duties to design, plan, and oversee the architecture, design, development, process, and management of software systems applied to new or existing products.

Job Responsibilities

• Develops and manages control system software for integrated power systems at the discrete level while developing and adapting requirements

• Uses a variety of programming tools and languages to create embedded control software

• Deploys control algorithms to embedded controllers (rapid prototyping and production ECU) from general project inputs without defined

functional requirements.

• Creates complex software requirements, specifications and validation plans

• Schedules and drives software code review sessions both internal to the company and with external sources

• Develops software engineering test standards

• Develops complex system architectures across multiple

product lines that enable cohesive integration, component maintainability, and

reuse.

• Maintains the software portfolio and software lifecycle.

• Performs other duties as assigned

Job Skills Requirements

• Professional experience in object-oriented design and analysis using a variety of programming languages.

• Comprehensive knowledge of appropriate standards.

• Professional experience with Software version management tools including such as Subversion and Git

• Experience using an integrated development environment

(IDE)

• Ability to effectively use static analysis tools.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Related field

•1 year of professional engineering experience in firmware development.
