Description:
Job Summary:
Provide expertise in Geographic Information Systems, data management principals and technology, specifically within a GE Smallworld and/or ESRI ArcGIS environment. Possess knowledge and experience with GE Electric Office and/or ESRI ArcGIS Portal and Portal Applications (WebApps, Operations Dashboards, Experience Builder, ArcGIS Online). Experience in field collection methods beneficial.
Essential Job Functions & Tasks:
1. Create, revise and maintain technical data used for reports, maps and dashboards.
2. Create, revise and maintain GIS assets, equipment and property records.
3. Obtain information required to perform work from multiple resources including; verbal/electronic communications, as-built drawings, field notes, as well as technical training and reference manuals.
4. Operate large scale plotters and other duplicating equipment.
5. Work with other organizations of the company to resolve discrepancies to assure that data reflects accurate field conditions.
6. Design and run moderately complex queries and reports defined to pull data from graphical and non graphical databases.
7. Demonstrate a proficiency in various related data systems utilized to perform GIS duties. 8. Assist in training others in the technical aspects of the various systems utilized to perform GIS duties.
Minimum Requirements: Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Geography, Civil Engineering, Drafting or related field OR Associate's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Geography, Civil Engineering, Drafting or related field OR High School/equivalency.
Work Experience: Bachelor's degree in GIS - 0 year related experience; non-GIS Bachelors or Associate's degree - 2 years related GIS experience; High School - 5 years related GIS experience.
Required License(s)/Certification(s): Valid state driver's license
Minimum Requirements: Physical demand level is Sedentary
1. Must have good working knowledge of GPS concepts and principles of data analysis
2. Experience working with large data sets
3. The ability to distinguish colors
4. Good communication skills (both verbally and written)
5. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel and Access
Position is working on-site in the Texas Home Office in Corpus Christi...not remotely.
Mon-Fri in the office.
