This Seed Facility is a part of the early Breeding/R&D Pipeline at Bayer and they are overall responsible for all aspects of preparing and packaging corn, soybean seed for research trials all over the world. Their facility is a part of the earliest part of the product pipeline for internal customers as opposed to commercial- they prepare seed for controlled and regulated research trails (primarily company owned). Candidates will manage receiving, scanning, cleaning, treating, sorting, counting, labeling, shelling, and warehousing seed. They pride themselves on Quality over Quantity, but this site moves over $50 Million in seed to 92 growers globally. The site is EPA regulated, so all actions are subject to audit and government fines for discrepancies, and everything they do is extremely important to future years of research. Will be managing inventory and checking of shipments of seed for trials; this facility in Hazelwood receives shipments of seed from all over the world for research purposes- including Costa Rica, Hawaii, Brazil. They manage a complex inventory and packaging process for trial runs, so their work is very time-sensitive and detail oriented. Will receive seed from shipments and enter that information into an internal database manually and/or using an RF ID scanner. It is very important that all information be entered correctly to route it to the correct recipient, reflect accurate weights, counts, etc. Key responsibilities: Conduct seed processing, packaging, shipping, and receiving activities under the supervision of an area supervisor Operate specialized seed processing and packaging equipment Utilize available technologies (RFID, scanners, hand-held devices) to verify quality of work Assist in maintaining a clean, safe work environment May serve as a member of safety or compliance committees This is indoor work all related to the inventory, packaging, sorting, counting, and packaging of seeds to be shipped out to different regions of the world. Safety gear will be provided by Bayer. Will operate seed counting/sorting machinery and count by hand. Much of the lab equipment is automated, so the job requires willingness to learn new technologies. Will use scanners to read bar codes and ensure they are within regulations specified by the receiving country according to weight, size, etc. 1st class: • 7 openings. o Need 10 subs prior to January 1 • Interviews 1st week of January • Start January 31 2nd class: • 34 openings o Need 40 subs prior to January 14 • Interviews 3rd week in January • Start February 14 3rd class: • 15 openings o Need 20 subs prior to January 21 • Interview 3rd/4th week in January • Start March 7th

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Sci or Engineering related field strongly preferred- they will select degreed candidates over diploma. They want candidates that are interested in working there in R&D long term. The degree will allow them to convert down the line. Like to see leadership/team experience on resume. MUST be reliable and have a proven work history of excellent tenure and attendance. They will NOT be accepting candidates that are contract-heavy. If a candidate has a few positions listed that were contract, make sure to make this very apparent on the resume in parentheses reasons for leaving. Experience with any type of regulated environment work- following SOPs, shipping/receiving, inventory management, retail, or restaurant would be ideal. Data entry experience required. They will look at job tenure on resume- if candidate is contract heavy- must be able to explain it and some type of proof of performance- ie:contracts through the same agency, etc *****Candidates MUST e able to manage basic functions on the computer, to include Microsoft EXCEL. Also use an internal program for tracking shipments of seed. If candidates cannot demonstrate their ability to mange basic tasks in email, EXCEL, Word, etc they are NOT a fit. Please be sure you are screening for this throughout the interview process.****** This is because they will need to learn to operate a lot of automated lab equipment - most of these are run off of a Windows operating system and so they will need to be able to navigate this easily and troubleshoot on their own to try and figure things out. Candidates must posses the mentality of QUALITY OVER QUANTITY- and stop if they find that something was done incorrectly, count is off, etc. On resume if there is a "Skills" section candidates must be able to articulate where/how they used these skills on the job- must be able to expand on it or don't have it on the resume.
