Description:
The Industrial Engineer applies engineering techniques to design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination. Applies statistical methods and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards. Considers workflow, layout, and safety measures when designing industrial plants and facilities. Coordinates quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost. Drafts and designs layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer. Ensures design meets organizational and production goals. Studies functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine functions and responsibilities of workers and work units and to identify areas of duplication. Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization. Analyzes work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment. Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment. Confers with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred. Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment or a combination of education and experience.
