Entry Level Lab Assistant Role located in Hoffman Estates, Illinois!

Job Description: 

• Receive and quarantine all specimen packages.
• Open and sort specimens.
• Check specimens for acceptance criteria.
• Separate and properly code all non-testable specimens.
• Enter and verify (accession) all specimen information into LIS (Laboratory Information System)
• Assist in strip manufacturing duties, including cutting and preparing strips for coating.
• Receive and log in any deliveries of laboratory supplies.
• Assist in manual entry and verification of laboratory results.
• All other duties assigned by the Laboratory Manager and/or Laboratory Supervisor.
• Notify his/her supervisor of any possible deviations from documented procedures.

Qualifications:

• Must Haves:
• Lab experience - not required but will be prioritized in consideration/selection
• Good Attention to detail
• Comfort level with handling sensitive samples
• Comfort level with using computers (they use Microsoft products)
• Ability to read, write, and speak English

Preferred:

• pipetting experience
• Dexterity
