Job Description
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the reliability and sustainability of new and existing equipment. This role involves leading process and product improvement efforts as a technical resource to the operations team. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting technical problems, managing both expense and CAPX projects.
Responsibilities:
- Devise PM strategies and spare parts lists.
- Conducting root cause analysis to determine the underlying cause of problems on equipment in effort to maximize equipment uptime and throughput.
- Developing and implementing new maintenance procedures and standard work for repair.
- Designing and implementing new procedures for monitoring and testing equipment.
- Finding new technologies and processes that can improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure that reliability is integrated into all aspects of the organization.
- Manage a variety of capital and non-capital projects as the Project Manager or Project Lead
- Utilizing fundamentals of project management, i.e. scope, specification, design review, budget and WBS/Schedule governed by change management.
- Knowledge of FEL process a plus.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members in a clear and timely manner; delegate as needed.
- Schedule contractors and manage day-to-day activities to complete projects on time
- Improve equipment reliability and operation through analysis of data and experimental evaluation
- Implementing appropriate plans to improve profitability by maximizing efficiency to include waste, speed, delay, and raw material usage using Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Manage the coordination, implementation and standardization of manufacturing process improvement and tooling.
- Perform work measurement studies, including time studies, process capability studies and uptime studies to meet pre-determined goals prior to formal handoff of project to manufacturing.
- Be directly involved with continuous improvement teams, which may include being facilitator of a team or group of teams.
- Incorporate safety into all aspects of the department and ensure safe working conditions during all activities associated within the manufacturing environment.
- Research, justify, design and implement new processes, tooling, and equipment.
- Procurement activities including obtaining bids, evaluating bids, and making purchase recommendations.
- Design countermeasures and engineering trials; verify effectiveness of corrective actions
Additional Skills & Qualifications
-4 year degree engineering degree required
-Minimum 7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
-Experience in leading various types of projects major equipment outages and installation of new equipment and processes directing internal and or external resources.
-Able to facilitate and complete root cause analysis (8-D, 5 why) and implement countermeasures to prevent re-occurrence.
-Strong computer skills, AutoCAD, proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
-Must be detail oriented with strong communication and analytical skills

Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
