What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Process Engineer position at Actalent?
Description:
Manufacturing engineer will be responsible for overall process improvement projects within high precision manufacturing environment. Manufacturing engineer will be responsible for improving existing CNC machining processes as well as developing and validating new processes for new product introductions. Manufacturing engineer will also be involved with installation and validation of new state of the art machinery and technology's for running a twenty four hour lights out manufacturing production. Engineering will be responsible for implementing lean principles for new and existing production lines for sustainability. Candidate will be responsible for driving initiatives for building new department that is looking to rapidly expand.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline
Optimizing manufacturing operations and sequencing steps to eliminate waste and shorten throughput time
Identifying, proposing and implementing quick change-over/quick set-up opportunities in machining operations
Will work closely with CAM Programmers, set-up programmer/operators and manufacturing leads to identify improvements in tooling and work holding
Will actively participate in daily team meetings and leads project teams to remove roadblocks
Applies, teaches, mentors and coaches lean principles and processes
Key member of the team charged with transitioning the business to value streams
Leads Kaisen workshops
Develops equipment, tooling and fixturing specifications and manages all aspects of CAPEX projects
Identifies and proposes new technology to support substantial growth and continued cost reduction through improved efficiency
Implements automation such as robotics to further advance our unattended, lights-out operations
Works closely with Maintenance/Reliability Engineering to minimize downtime
Leads projects and project teams
Strives for improvement in safety, ergonomics and quality every day.
