What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Design Engineer position at Actalent?
Actalent is currently hiring Mechanical Designers in the Kansas City area. Qualified candidates must have 3D modeling experience with SolidWorks with an emphasis on product development. Experience designing heavy machinery is highly preferred.
Description:
- Knowledge of Mechanical design of component and assembly in an Automotive and heavy-duty trucks environment.
- Enhance and troubleshoot design issues in products and production.
- Provide technical support and resolve problems for manufacturing plant personnel.
- Performs CAD design and drafting and develops drawings and related bill of material for fabrication and plant use.
- Knowledge of FEA on critical design parts, components and assemblies.
- Develop and document assembly processes to capture parts data, the research of part attributes (part number, part description, part price, location, etc.)
- Provide support to resolve customer concerns related to product, vehicle applications and parts related issues.
- Follow Engineering Change Notice process to properly revise and document all the necessary changes for future builds.
