What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Drafter position at Actalent?
Actalent is looking for a MECHANICAL DRAFTER for our client in the aerospace industry for a long-term opportunity in the Mississauga. ON area.
Role Description:
In this role you will be responsible of doing 3D model creations or updating some existing ones. They will not be really doing 2D drafting except on a few exceptions. The candidate will be expected to have a good understanding of CAD tools and GD&T as they will be focused on taking those tolerances from a 2D drawings and reflecting them in a 3D model.
MUST HAVE SKILLS:
1 - Drawing experience in 2D and 3D modeling
2 - Experience with catia
3 - Experience with GD&T
4- 2-7 years of experience
Job Responsibilities:
o Generates complex technical drawings, 3D models and layouts of moderately complex design concepts using Computer Aided Design (CAD) in CATIA V5/V6
o Provides technical assistance throughout the detailed design and development phase
o Ensures that all drawings, 3D files and documents are created according to established rules and guidelines
o Applies in-depth knowledge of mechanical drawing, engineering mathematics, geometric tolerancing, manufacturing methods, knowledge of physics and strength of materials
o Experience using CATIA V5/V6, (2D and 3D) or similar
o Can serve as a resource on various tasks
Additional information
Work environment: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote), supporting different projects out of the Mississauga, ON offices.
Pay rate: Based on experience and qualifications
