Job Description
- Work from specifications: Mechanical drafters start with rough sketches and specifications from engineers and architects.
- Specify materials: They specify the materials and procedures needed for new products.
- Modify designs: They modify designs to fix operating problems or reduce production issues.
- Review data: They review specifications, sketches, and drawings to assess factors that affect component designs.
- Coordinate with others: They consult with other workers to design and lay out components and systems.
- Utilize AutoCAD and Solidworks.
- 2-4 years of drafting/design related experience.
