Global, multidisciplinary firm is looking to add a Mechanical Engineer with 4-10 years of experience to support a large backlog of USACE infrastructure projects. Candidate will need to have PE license or ability to obtain within a year. This team is currently supporting projects on existing and new locks and dams. Candidate ideally has knowledge of Microstation, Solidworks, AutoCAD, and Ansys. Candidates ideally has prior project management experience.
Assist with planning and designing water resource and navigation projects such as lock and dams; hydraulic structures such as gates and valves, hoists and cranes, hydropower plants, pump stations; and mechanical systems associated with ports and harbors.
Conduct technical evaluations and site condition assessments.
Prepare or modify reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and designs for project.
Prepare design calculations.
Direct draftspersons/technicians to convert designs to working drawings.
Analyze reports, drawings, tests and interviews to plan and design project
Assists with developing probable construction cost estimates.
Visit construction site to observe progress and other duties per the contract documents.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
4 to 10 years relevant mechanical engineering experience.
PE licensed or ability to obtain within a year
Experience in conceptual and detailed design of mechanical elements for water resources and navigation structures.
Experience in machine design including fluid power, compressed air, pumps, motors, and bearings.
Construction support experience a plus.
Project management experience a plus, but not required.
Knowledge of MicroStation, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Ansys
Experience with USACE or other federal or local government agencies preferred, but not required.
