Microbiology Lab Technician

Job Title: Lab Technician

Location: On-Site (Social Circle, GA)

Work environment: Full Time

Job Description:

• You will be placed in the microbiology department - environment monitoring, critical utility sampling, endotoxin testing, bioburden for raw materials and in-process samples, microbial identification and final product sterility testing
• This role will consist of environmental monitoring, water sampling, water bioburden testing, in-process bioburden testing, and bacterial endotoxin testing (BET).
• When assigned water sampling for that day, you will gather supplies and materials needed, grab labels needed, go to manufacturing area and collect water samples aseptically and bring back to lab for processing
• You will support testing a wide range of biological, chemical, or physical analyses on pharmaceutical products (biologics and drugs) through all stages of the manufacturing process from incoming raw materials to finished goods, and may include environmental monitoring programs

Laboratory Operations:

• Support laboratory operations through sample control, equipment metrology, data reconciliation/ archiving, or computerized system programming and support.
• Follow SOPs and generate results.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently, and in a timely fashion.
• Must communicate effectively (verbal and written) with supervisors and peers.
• Knowledge of most laboratory equipment including but not limited to autoclaves, incubators and analytical equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow detailed written instructions and have good verbal/written communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic chemical and biological safety procedures.
• Good computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Skills & Qualifications:

• BS degree in Biology or Microbiology
• Availability to work on weekends
• 1 years industry experience - experience doing micro testing/ environmental monitoring, water sampling
• 6 months of professional experience would be a plus
• Open to entry level with academic lab experience
