What are the responsibilities and job description for the NGS Lab Technician position at Actalent?
Description:
• Run various NGS assays including WGS, WES, RNA-Seq and targeted enrichment.
• Perform high quality bench work and lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve issues.
• Implement quality control processes throughout various workflows.
• Record laboratory documents according to the company guidelines.
• Maintain the lab instrument in an optimal working condition.
• Train and support junior team members in executing projects on time.
• Cover 2nd and weekend shifts when necessary.
• Work with vendors for lab supplies and reagents purchase.
• Align with internal and external stake holders to set priorities and goals.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• B.S. degree in life sciences with at least 2 years of experience in molecular biology or genomics with sufficient bench experience.
• Competent molecular biology techniques.
• NGS/qPCR experiences strongly preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Team working spirit and good communication skills.
• Effective multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
