Description:
In this position, you will be supporting the Fragrance operation team which provides fragrance compounding products for the external market. As a Jr QC Chemist you will contribute to the team’s success via: Addressing quality related issues brought to by production, sample lab, inventory, planning, our own QC team, sales and creative centers etc. You will work with production, inventory, Supply Chain, and our QC lab technician colleagues and will be responsible for day-to-day operation and maintenance of all analytical instrumentation.
Performing all common (routine and non-routine) chemical, physical and instrumental analyzes on quality and service analysis for samples coming from supply chain areas, in order to contribute in the resolution of complaints and production problems respectively.
Analyzing samples for quality control in accordance with regulations and analysis serving complaints according wishes of the client, interpret and assess GC analysis results, identifying anomalies, discussing deficits, with relevant Hazlet supply chain areas and / or client, Conduct additional research.
Contributing to ensuring the maintenance, calibration of equipment and instruments, troubleshooting, cleaning of the laboratory. Control in order to promote the work and safety.
identifying the cause of failure in method, equipment, software; Troubleshooting, if necessary, with the assistance of technical services or supplier or immediate supervisor.
Loading samples to run Gas Chromatography test, Density, refractive Index and Hunter color, Extraction Oil for Polyiff Samples.
introducing, interacting, guiding and training new employees; monitor developments in the field of literature by reading, attending courses; compliance with safety policies.
Backing up for analytical and microbiological testing for encapsulated products.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you must have minimum of 1 year of experience in a Jr chemist position, preferably in a fragrance, Flavors or aroma chemical industry. A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Science or a similar degree is preferred. You will need to demonstrate attention to detail, customer focus, excellent communication and problem solving skills.

Strong interpersonal skills with ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
Demonstrated ability to proactively solve problems
Proficient in Microsoft office products, with advanced skills in Excel
Working knowledge of SAP /MRP system.
Strong analytical skills required, past experience in GC & GCMS methods.
- Job will require a lot of troubleshooting of the 10 GC and 2 GC-MS machines
- 2x per week troubleshooting is done for preventative maintenance
- Will be doing hands on bench testing for things like product density and color
- Analysis on finished product and raw materials
- 200 samples processed per day
o With jr chemist open, this has cut down approximately 10% on samples per day
- Complete 1 week of intensive training and then work with mentor for 2-3 more weeks, then able to run on own
- Training takes place on 1st shift, 8:30am-5pm – Actual shift for role is either 10pm-6:30am or 10:30pm-7am
