What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pathology Assistant position at Actalent?
Description:
Pathology Assistant will be dissecting or grossing a variety of surgical specimens such as biopsies or a complex cancer section. The term "grossing" means inspecting the specimens, describing and measuring the tissue, inking if needed, and sectioning the tissue to be processed for diagnosis. They will also be doing frozen sections. They can expect to see 10-20 cases a day and are required to finish their cases before leaving for the day. Half of the cases they receive are complex and half are easy. Slides need to be scanned into the computer system for tracking and deliver those with requisitions to the pathologists.
