Description:
Summary/Objective From customer-driven interest and internal prioritization, the process chemist will develop commercially viable chemical process routes meeting customer requirements. Must possess a basic understanding of modern organic synthesis methodologies. Must be capable of independently developing lab methods for GC’s, HPLC’s. Maintain and troubleshot lab instruments. Considerable interaction within the technical team and customers will help guide the development process and activities of the chemist. Essential Functions Specific Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Conduct laboratory operations in a safe manner 2. Develop and optimize chemical process routes for customer evaluation 3. Convert laboratory procedures into processes suitable for operation in pilot plant reactors up to 30 gallons and production equipment up to 4000 gallons 4. Develop and implement toll customer analytical methods onto laboratory instruments 5. Create SOPs for new methods and train laboratory personnel 6. Work directly or as part of team with customers to meet specifications and set project deadlines 7. Write technical articles describing procedures, experimental results, or formulations for InChem use and documentation

Position Requirements/Abilities/Skills: 1. Relevant industrial chemistry experience required to develop, formulate, scale up, introduce to commercial plant, and analyze products 2. The ability to perform maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments. 3. Good written and verbal skills in English to be able to effectively communicate within the company and with customers 4. Demonstrate skills to efficiently conduct experiments and development for Company and customer demands 5. Hands on experience in laboratory and pilot plant environments 6. This person must be familiar with and execute all life critical safety procedures and permits
