PROCESS ENGINEER | VONORE, TN | AUTOMOTIVE MANUFACTURING
The Process Engineer will ensure the glass fabrication line is functioning efficiently, safely and effectively. This will require a thorough understanding of company standards and equipment to ensure operators are properly using equipment and machinery. This position also works with operators to complete other efficiency and quality-related tasks, including, but not limited to, troubleshooting operations, issuing and revising drawing and process sheets, verifying conformance of products and training operators of equipment and machinery.
- Engineering of assigned area of glass fabrication
- Manage process-related tooling in preparation for each production run
- Troubleshoot line operations
- Issue and revise drawing and process sheets as a result of continuous improvement in the process
- Develop and implement continuous improvement in capability and/or scrap reduction
- Verify conformance of components to customer specifications
- Analyze weekly production results, identify deficiencies and implement the necessary improvements
- Work with operators to reduce defects, increase throughput and improve the products’ dimensional capability
- Train operators on how to safely and effectively operate plant equipment and machinery
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience with manufacturing equipment or assembly lines
- Solid understanding of Six Sigma, SPC, 5 Why, Pareto and other tools to improve and sustain production levels
- Proven understanding of tools, quality of product and ability to implement improvements to operations
