Project Engineer

Description:

Wellons is looking to add a new project engineer to their team.

This person will be working within the design and engineering team overseeing projects. These projects will vary from Lumber Drying Kilns, wood burning energy systems and oil and gas heater skids.

They will be required to select components and equipment based on the performance and price.

Ideally that candidates will need to have some experience in either lumber drying, thermodynamics or combustion.

Candidates will be given a contract document from the project manager for an order that has been received. This role will then have to work with the engineering department in completing scope, establishing what engineering is required to complete the scope. This could include thermal coil sizing, heat exchangers, and some design changes on something Wellons has previously built and work through the solutions. It’s not heavily CAD focused, some design, but the most of it is on completing the design, creating the packages and ensuring they are accurate

Must Haves:

5 years mechanical design and project engineering experience

5 years of experience designing in a heavy industrial setting for manufacturing working with custom designed capital plant and process equipment.

Mechanical Engineering Degree or a Structural/Civil Engineering Degree

P.Eng Designation or EIT or the willingness to work towards this designation.

Experience working with Process or combustion equipment equipment such as heat Exchangers, Pumps, Compressors, Burners, boilers, etc. would be ideal.
